Development and progression
There are so many ways for you to grow and progress your career within Newton, from getting stuck into each project and challenge to learning from those around you and gaining formal qualifications.
Each day on-site with clients offers you a new opportunity to learn and develop your skills. Every new project gives you the chance to dig deeper into real problems and get hands on in solving client challenges.
You’ll be supported to learn and grow by your development managers and the peer group you were part of during your induction. These are the people you can lean on and connect with throughout your career when you need guidance. Review days also offer you the opportunity to work through complex client work with others from within the wider community at Newton.
When it comes to formal training, every graduate consultant starts with our 5-week induction aimed at getting you ready for on-site client work. With a wealth of online training resources, you can develop your strengths and grow your skills within one of our specialist areas – Digital & AI or People & Change. As your career progresses, you’ll have further opportunities to gain professional qualifications.

An enhanced salary package, with accelerated career progression available for those with PhDs or previous consulting experience.
Paid every six months, based on company performance.
£2,500 as soon as you sign your contract.
Annual pay reviews as well as a clear progression plan.
Make regular travel easier with a selection of car options (available through salary sacrifice).
A contribution of £900 towards Private Medical Insurance from a flexible choice of providers that you can claim back from Newton. Contributions increase with promotion.
We have a full social calendar with Spring Activity Days, Christmas events, a three-day summer event and six optional Newton subsidised weekends away every year.
Get involved with volunteer days and our annual Charity Day where you can provide hands-on support to a charity partner.
Travel and mobility
Our meetings don’t often happen in meeting rooms. We work hand-in-hand with clients on-site across the country, so that we can deliver the best possible results.
This means travel is a huge part of how we work. It makes our role exciting and varied, and it keeps you on your toes. Sometimes that can mean early starts and late finishes. But we also recognise that having a positive work-life balance helps you rest and take care of your wellbeing. That’s why we never expect you to leave home before 6am on a Monday, be home later than 6pm on a Friday or work on weekends.
