U.S. investor-owned utilities plan to invest more than $1.1 trillion between 2026 and 2030. Demand is climbing, assets are aging, and the build program ahead of the sector is the largest in a generation.
Capital is not the binding constraint. Delivery capability is. Skills shortages, oversubscribed contractors, fragile supply chains and operating models built for a different era all sit between an approved program and an asset in service.
In the U.S. that is an earnings problem, not only an operational one. A utility earns a return once an asset is in service, not before. Every month of delay is deferred revenue, delayed rate recovery and more to defend at the next prudency review.
Who we are
Newton works inside utility programs alongside the people who run them. We size the delivery gap, build the plan with the teams who have to execute it, and stay until the numbers move. We do not hand over a report and leave.
We are the only consultancy of our kind and scale that puts 100% of our implementation fees at risk on every program.
Results from U.K. and European programs. Our U.S. delivery evidence is being built now.

“On every program we run, our fees are at risk until we hit the targets we set together. That is not a pricing model. It is how we show up.” Benoît Laclau, Global Energy & Infrastructure Leader Newton

We joined EEI as an associate member to be part of the conversation year-round, not to appear twice and disappear. Here is where we will be, and what we are working on in between.
Phoenix, AZ · November 8 to 10, 2026
The room: utility CEOs and CFOs, treasury and finance leadership, investors, analysts and rating agencies. What we’re bringing: capital delivery and speed to energization, framed as a financial argument. A late asset is deferred revenue before it is anything else.
Orlando, FL · June 14 to 16, 2027
The room: utility CEOs and senior operating executives, policymakers, regulators and technology partners. What we’re bringing: the workforce question. New research on what it would actually take to make a utility trades career a first choice again.
