When you join us as an intern, you’ll get hands-on and contribute to real client challenges from week one. The program lasts eight weeks across June and July and offers a salary of $95,000 annualized.

You’ll see our business from both sides of the Atlantic, as you join an induction in the UK. Here, you’ll build a similar core skillset to our full-time Consultants before returning to the US to support our clients’ work. Throughout the program, you’ll have structured support with a Line Manager and Buddy/Mentor, and weekly check-ins to help with your development.

Succeed on your internship and you may be asked to return as a full-time Consulting.

Who can apply?

You don’t need any consulting experience to apply for our consulting internship. What matters to us is your potential and skills. That said, you will need to:

  • Be in your final year of a bachelor’s or master’s degree in engineering, business, economics, mathematics and physical sciences, natural and applied sciences, social and cognitive sciences, computer science, analytics or other quantitative disciplines. An exact list of majors can be found on Handshake, as well as our job posting.
  • Have a final graduation date window of between December 2027 – June 2028
  • Have a cumulative GPA of 3.5 across all disciplines.

The internship experience

Being a Consulting Intern

As an intern, you’ll build the same core skillset as our entry-level Consultants.

The first two weeks will be spent onboarding in the UK at our Oxfordshire headquarters. You’ll learn the fundamentals of consulting and the Newton methodology, and you’ll get to network with your peers, Consultants and leadership.

In weeks three to eight, you’ll be back in the US where you’ll join a live project team. Your new skills will be put to the test as you map processes, analyze data and help identify ways to improve operations. Finally, you’ll close out the program at a Chicago-based Review Day, where you’ll share what you’ve learned, achieved and any recommendations for future cohorts you may have.

Throughout your time as an intern, you’ll be supported by a Line Manager and a Buddy/Mentor. You’ll also have coaching as you work on your project and take part in Reviews to check in on your progress and performance.

Our application process

How to apply

Our recruitment process gives you the opportunity to showcase your potential as a well-rounded individual.

1

Application, Assessment and Initial Interview

Start by submitting your résumé and the most up-to-date copy of your non-official transcripts, and then answer a few short questions about your education and background. Next, you’ll complete our online assessments that test logical reasoning, numerical skills and data interpretation. Finally, you’ll complete a short one-way video interview where you can let your personality shine. You’ll answer two questions about your experiences, so be yourself and show us your communication skills. We have real assessors screening these – not AI – so treat this like an in-person interview. You can take breaks in between each of the assessments.

2

Live Interview

You’ll participate in a live interview taking place on Microsoft Teams. This will include an Analyze & Explain case interview as well as a behavioral interview within this session.

3

In-person Final Interviews

Candidates participate in two 45-minute interviews and a case-based group exercise. The interviews will be focused on a competency case study and a technical case study. On the evening before Final Interviews, candidates will be invited to a dinner hosted by some of our Consultants.
