Our entry level consulting role gives you responsibility early on. As you interact with clients, working side-by-side with them on-site, you’ll develop the skills to become a great Consultant. You’ll have fun with your teams along the way and build lifelong friendships with exceptional people beside you.
You’ll be a key part of what our clients call the Newton difference – our highly intelligent, committed and yet very human team. We are intensely collaborative and you’ll be given responsibility from the beginning, working side-by-side with clients on-site to shape their future success.
We act as a ‘strategic delivery partner’ to our clients, which means that we don’t just advise, we also implement the changes we suggest. You’ll guide every project from beginning to end and see the tangible impact of your hard work, whether it’s building future-ready transport, creating a sustainable consumer goods strategy.
Our start dates are flexible throughout the year, with induction being 5-weeks in the UK.

You’ll immerse yourself in your client’s world, mapping processes and analyzing data to identify opportunities for them to improve their operations. You’ll co-design solutions, planning the changes needed to deliver lasting impact and then making them happen. Every project and every client is different, and you’ll work on-site, from the shop floor to the boardroom, and everywhere in between. That ownership means you’ll develop fast. Over two years you’ll progress to Senior Consultant as you work on a real mix of projects across different sectors. Working with more experienced Consultants, you’ll be empowered to tackle challenges and deliver together with your clients.

Development and progression
Development is primarily on the job. From day one, you’ll immerse yourself in client environments and apply Newton Core to diagnose problems, design solutions and implement change. This hands-on approach builds strong problem-solving skills and a deep understanding of how organizations operate.rnrnOn-the-job learning is supported by structured training, specialist courses and regular feedback. You’ll build capabilities across analysis, data and digital, operational excellence, stakeholder management and high-performance delivery. As you progress, you can deepen your expertise through specialist pathways such as Digital & AI or People & Change.rnrnYou’ll have access to a mentor and regular review points to guide your development and progression. If you can demonstrate impact, ownership and the right mindset, you’ll progress quickly in an environment that balances high challenge with high support.
An exciting five-week induction program based in the UK. You’ll work through case studies and develop the core skills needed to be a Consultant, with two weeks spent applying this knowledge on-site. Completing induction in the UK allows new joiners to learn alongside colleagues from across the business and build strong networks early.
Following induction, Consultants focus on applying their skills on client projects. During this stage, they complete additional training to build advanced techniques in areas such as efficiency, engagement and delivery excellence, supporting increasing autonomy and responsibility.
As you prepare for promotion to Senior Consultant, you’ll complete a dedicated development program, typically involving a week of training, often overseas. With our help, you’ll learn new management skills and improve your ability to build team and client relationships.
Your first promotion will lead you to the role of Senior Consultant. The timeline for this exciting step varies and is based entirely on when you demonstrate the required capability and experience. You’ll have regular development and performance conversations with your Line Manager and Development Manager, guiding you on your journey and what you need to do to progress. This ensures you have a clear path and the support you need to reach your goals.rnrnNewton is a place where you can build a meaningful long-term career in consultancy. As you develop, so will the opportunities available to you, including globally as we grow. There’s plenty of room for promotion and you’ll gradually lean more into maintaining strong relationships and managing others as you progress.

We believe in salary transparency, so salary ranges are published directly within our North America job postings, so candidates can make an informed decision before applying.
You’ll participate in our Profit Share bonus scheme. It’s paid out bi-annually in March and September and is calculated in line with the level of operating profit we generate, compared to the profit target that we set for ourselves at the start of the financial year.
20 days’ holiday per year, plus public holidays of the country you are working in and major holidays from your home country (e.g. 4th July, Thanksgiving etc.)

FAQs
The starting salary for our entry-level Consultant role is $95,000, regardless of whether you join our Chicago, IL or Charlotte, NC hub. We do not negotiate compensation for entry-level Consultants, helping to ensure that everyone starts their career at Newton on the same footing.
Yes. Candidates in North America can apply to the UK graduate intake, which runs as a separate recruitment process with its own salary, benefits and employment terms. However, candidates may only submit one application to Newton per recruiting cycle. If you apply to the North America program and are unsuccessful, you cannot then apply to the UK program during the same cycle, and vice versa. The Consultant role is globally consistent, but contracts are country-specific, and joining one program does not guarantee a future transfer between roles or locations.
The majority of US Consultants will spend most of their time on North America projects. However, it involves some flexibility. When needed, Consultants may work in the UK or other client locations for extended periods. You should be prepared to work globally and to be away from home for longer periods.
No, we are not currently offering visa sponsorship for the U.S. Consultant role. To be eligible, you must already have authorization to work in the U.S. without current or future sponsorship from Newton.

Start by submitting your résumé and answering a few short questions about your education and background. Next, you’ll complete our online assessments that test logical reasoning, numerical skills and data interpretation. Finally, you’ll complete a short one-way video interview where you can let your personality shine. You’ll answer two questions about your experiences, so be yourself and show us your communication skills. We have real assessors screening these – not AI – so treat this like an in-person interview. You can take breaks in-between each of the assessments.

You’ll participate in a live interview taking place on Microsoft Teams.

Candidates will participate in a case-based Group Exercise, followed by two 45-minute interviews: one focused on behavioral competencies and the other on a technical case study.
